Addiction prevention starts in the family

Do not forget that you can become addicted even with one try.”

Know how to say 'no'

Prof. Dr. Atasoy shared his knowledge and experience on the fight against addiction and said, “University life is a period of time when you will accumulate the most beautiful memories. University will determine what you will be in the future and your achievements. First of all, you need to pay close attention to your own physical health.

Prof. Dr. Neslihan Yetkiner, Dean of IUE Faculty of Arts and Sciences, pointed out that the vision of the university in the new term is 'creating creative and transformative solutions for a sustainable life' and said, “As we all know, the 3 basic dimensions of sustainability consist of economic, environmental and social components. The global call for action in the fight against addiction was established by the United Nations within the framework of the '2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development'. The agenda includes goals that include the dimensions of health and well-being. The third goal is the treatment and prevention of addiction. In the changing world conditions, it is a moral responsibility for universities to make the right choices for a sustainable world as guiding social institutions. It is our goal to raise awareness about addiction, which is one of the social components of a sustainable life, and to do this with the participation of all stakeholders in our faculty.” Prof. Dr. Yetkiner concluded his words by thanking Prof. Dr. Sevil Atasoy for her support.
