Stating that these diseases can cause serious health problems and can significantly reduce the quality of life of patients if not intervened in time, Dr. Nar said that patients should strictly follow the treatment plan and medication given by their doctors. Pointing out that these diseases usually progress insidiously and become difficult to treat when they are recognized late, Nar said, “Especially high blood pressure is known as the ‘silent killer’. Most of the time, our patients may not feel high blood pressure. However, this condition should be taken under control before it causes organ damage.”

Stating that healthy nutrition and regular exercise play a major role in the prevention and management of these diseases, Dr. Nar said, “Reducing salt consumption, exercising regularly, eating a diet based on vegetables and fruits are very effective in controlling these diseases. Especially individuals in the risk group need to be careful. It is vital that people with a family history of heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure are under stricter control. Early diagnosis can save many lives. Health services offered in hospitals are of great importance in the diagnosis and treatment of such chronic diseases. Patients will be able to secure their health by benefiting from these services.”
