Artificial intelligence-supported diagnosis of cancer and many other diseases with MetaSystems
Near East University Hospital started to use the “MetaSystems Artificial Intelligence (AI) Supported Chromosome and FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) Imaging System”, which revolutionized the world with its artificial intelligence support and the ability to obtain images with a 20x lens for the first time in the world.
Genetic screening and analyzes provide early diagnosis and early intervention to specialists in cancer and many genetic diseases. Near East University Hospital Genetic Diagnosis Laboratory, which continues to increase its service capacity with state-of-the-art technology systems, started to use the MetaSystems system.
Genetic screenings for cancer will now take 1.5 minutes
“MetaSystems Artificial Intelligence (AI) Supported Chromosome and FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) Imaging System”, which can perform genetic analysis processes much faster and more efficiently, significantly improves the accuracy and quality of test results. Thanks to the new system, Near East University Hospital Genetics Laboratory will be able to analyze metaphases obtained from various samples such as peripheral blood, bone marrow, amniotic fluid, abortion material, chorionic villus material and cord blood with the support of artificial intelligence. This system, which brings revolutionary innovations to genetic analysis processes, offers the opportunity to reliably classify and detect abnormal chromosome structures with the support of artificial intelligence.
Near East University Hospital Medical Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory Supervisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çerkez Ergören said, “Genetic analysis, which takes 1.5-2 hours on average, will be reduced to approximately 1.5 minutes with MetaSystems.”
Simultaneous scanning and analysis feature
This system, which has the ability to obtain images with a 20x objective for the first time in the world, can analyze a region with high cell numbers in FISH scans in as little as one minute. It can also perform chromosome and FISH scans simultaneously. In FISH scans, it offers the opportunity to process in a bright environment, without using immersion oil, and to perform both scanning and analysis at the same time. These features greatly increase speed and efficiency in genetic analysis processes.
