In Vezirköprü district of Samsun, a program was organized for 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month'. District Health Director Yasin Sağlam said that all women over the age of 20 should have regular screening.
Vezirköprü Cancer Early Diagnosis Screening and Education Center (KETEM) team opened a stand in front of the District Health Directorate for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and informed the public against cancer. In the all-day event, citizens in front of Vezirköprü District Health Directorate were informed by the KETEM team about the importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer and other types of cancer. District Governor Özgür Kaya and Mayor Av. Murat Gül visited the stand and received information about the activities of the team in the district.
Receiving information from KETEM officials, District Governor Özgür Kaya said, “As you know, we have many rural neighborhoods. We see that you are working to raise awareness of our people in the district center and rural neighborhoods. Let's continue to raise awareness of our people on such an important issue. I would like to inform you that we will give full support on behalf of the district governorship in this regard.”
District Health Director Dr. Yasin Sağlam stated that their aim is to draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer and other types of cancer and said, “Women over the age of 20 should have regular screening. I would like to state that all our people can receive this service free of charge at our Cancer Early Diagnosis and Education Center in our Directorate.”
