Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Department of Health Affairs distributed pink ribbons and brochures explaining the importance of early diagnosis to the municipality staff as part of the 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month' activities carried out between October 1-31. Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Emin Direkçi, Head of Health Affairs Department Düşünsel Şentürk also attended the event at the Metropolitan Municipality building. Within the scope of the event, a mini concert was also given by the staff of the Orchestra Branch Directorate.
Stating that breast cancer can affect not only women but also men, Mayor Mustafa Bozbey emphasized the importance of raising awareness in society on this issue. Stating that breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and that early diagnosis saves lives, Mayor Bozbey said, “We are working on the importance of early diagnosis during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In this context, we will draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis with the vehicle we have prepared. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we assume important responsibilities in health. Public health is extremely important. Early diagnosis saves lives. We want our citizens not to neglect both the checks they can do themselves and the health screenings.”
