Beware of chronic urticaria known as “Dabaz”

“World Urticaria Day (UDAY), which is celebrated every year on October 1, aims to draw attention to chronic urticaria and to raise awareness to improve the quality of life of people living with this disease,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Türk, a member of the Department of Immunology and Allergy Diseases, in his statement.


Pay attention if you have recurrent itching and skin rashes, redness and blisters

Mentioning that chronic urticaria is also known as “hives, dabaz” among the people, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Türk said that among the symptoms of the disease; It is a skin condition characterized by itchy rashes, redness and blisters on the skin, and that the disease can cause patients to lose sleep with frequently recurring itching and skin rashes, decrease their work performance and negatively affect their social relations.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Türk said, “It is very important to raise awareness about the causes, symptoms and treatment options of this disease, which affects millions of people worldwide. World Urticaria Day aims to raise awareness about chronic urticaria, draw attention to the needs of patients and inform about the treatment options of this disease. It should be remembered that people living with urticaria should know that they are not alone and that their symptoms can be controlled with the right treatment methods.”

Stating that this year, the World Urticaria Day campaign is back with a strong and new slogan and the slogan is “your journey”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Türk said, “Increasing awareness of this disease in the society plays a major role in improving the quality of life of those living with urticaria. From the first onset of symptoms, to the challenging process of finding the right doctor and treatment, to the ultimate goal of achieving a symptom-free life, these journeys are a testament to the strength and perseverance of those living with urticaria.”
