Bladder tumor incidence age drops to 16

Although bladder tumor, which is more common in men than women, is more common in the 50s, it has started to be seen even in 16-year-olds with the effect of increasing smoking, being in smoking environments, low daily fluid consumption, and consumption of oil with additives. Urology Specialist Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tunç Özdemir from the Prostate Cancer Association, who warned about the decline of the disease to young ages, stated that the decrease in smoking to children and the presence of children in smoking environments triggered this disease.

Bladder tumor, which is 3-4 times more common in men than women today, is caused by smoking, genetic factors, low daily fluid consumption, excessive consumption of fatty and additive foods. The use of cigarettes and tobacco products contributes almost 50 percent to the development of this disease.

Symptoms include frequent urination, pain in the groin area, urgent need to urinate, blood clots in the urine, back pain, weight loss and weakness. Stating that the incidence of bladder tumors has decreased to 16 years of age due to the recent increase in smoking, Özdemir says that the biggest factor is smoking and being in smoking environments.

It is seen in pediatric patients

Pointing out that bladder tumor cases are seen in 16-year-old child patients who come with complaints of urinary infections, bloody urine, frequent urination, burning and painful sensation while urinating, Özdemir says that the main factor for the average age of this disease to drop so much is smoking and being affected by the smoking environment. Özdemir said, “Unfortunately, the average age of smoking has decreased a lot recently. This disease, which we used to see more frequently in the 50s in the past, is now seen in 16-year-olds.

It has started to be seen even in children. If we consider not only smoking but also environmental factors, the passive smoking of children in a smoking environment also triggers this disease.”

“Olive oil should not harm our health”

Fats found in almost every food we consume enter our lives with packaged products and processed foods. Olive oils obtained by mixing with oils such as cottonseed oil and palm oil invite many diseases and trigger bladder tumors. Mixed olive oils that trigger diseases such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and diabetes also invite bladder cancer. Özdemir explained the things to be considered when consuming olive oils, whose benefits for our health are countless, as follows:

“We need to pay attention to the fact that olive oil, which reduces inflammation in the body, regulates the digestive system, reduces the risk of cancer and its benefits are countless, is organic. Olive oil should never be mixed with oils such as palm oil and cottonseed oil. Otherwise, the oils we consume to be healthy will cause various diseases. Especially the olive oils that we buy from the markets, which are affordable, turn into carcinogens with the effect of chemicals during processing. These processed oils are then filled into plastic bottles, which does more harm than good. These oils cause diabetes, bladder tumors, bladder cancer, pancreatitis, pancreatitis and even pancreatic cancer. We should pay attention to the content of the oils we buy and prefer products sold in glass bottles.”

“If there is bleeding in the urine, there is a danger”

Stating that the most common symptom of a bladder tumor is blood from urine, Özdemir said, “Anyone who has blood in their urine can have a bladder tumor. The most common symptom is bloody urine. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, frequent urge to urinate, difficulty and pain while urinating. People with these symptoms should be diagnosed and treated by a specialist as soon as possible.”
