Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality's Health Workshops, where women were informed about breast and cervical cancers within the scope of 'Breast Cancer Awareness Month', have been completed.
In the Health Workshops organized by the Department of Women and Family Services at the Women's Life Centers in Huzurevleri Neighborhood in Kayapınar district and Koşuyolu Park in Bağlar district, health workers from the Department of Health Affairs and Bağlar Municipality Health Center explained 'Breast Cancer' and 'Cervical Cancer'. In the workshop, where visuals were presented in Kurdish and Turkish, women were informed about the symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis and treatment methods of breast and cervical cancers.
Treatment is more successful in early diagnosis
In the workshop, it was emphasized that women can notice the slightest changes in advance by doing breast self-examination every month, and it was stated that the treatment of breast cancer will be more successful with early diagnosis. In the workshop, where it was stated that screening tests enable breast and cervical cancers to be detected at earlier stages, it was also explained how the smear test and mammography, which are among the screening tests, are performed. Women participating in the workshop also had their sugar, blood pressure and temperature measured. Breast examinations were also performed for women who requested one.
On the other hand, 146 women participated in the workshops organized in 5 women's life centers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In the health workshop, children participating in the playrooms in 5 women's life centers were also trained on hygiene and dental health by the health personnel of the Health Affairs Department.
