In recent years, increasing stress and pressure in business and personal life has led to the spread of burnout syndrome. Dr. Günaydın said, “The person puts a lot of effort at first under intense work tempo and stress. Although he realizes that his workload and responsibilities take precedence over his personal life, he continues his life in harmony. However, over time, they feel that they cannot change these conditions and symptoms such as anger problems, unresponsiveness and sleep disorders appear. Stating that headache and insomnia can be seen in burnout syndrome, Specialist. Dr. Günaydın said, “It manifests itself with symptoms that occur in individuals due to constant stress and overload and negatively affect daily life and vary from person to person. These symptoms usually lead to significant deterioration in the person's energy, emotional state and mental functions. It manifests itself with physical symptoms such as feeling constantly tired and exhausted, loss of meaning from work and life, emotional emptiness, decreased or increased appetite, difficulty concentrating, headache, insomnia.”
“Working under stress triggers it”
Underlining that burnout syndrome is especially seen in people working under intense workload and stress, Specialist. Dr. Günaydın said, “The main causes of burnout syndrome include excessive workload, long working hours, low job satisfaction and insufficient social support. In addition, stress factors in individuals' personal lives can also increase the risk of burnout.”
“It's good to have a hobby”
Stating that stress management, work and life balance are important in coping with burnout syndrome, Günaydın said, “Activities such as regular exercise, taking up hobbies and participating in social activities should be included. Setting priorities in daily life routine and time management should be prioritized. Adopting proactive approaches to reduce the effects of burnout syndrome and seeking professional help when necessary is one of the keys to maintaining a healthy life. In order to prevent burnout in workplaces, it is important to distribute the workload in a balanced way and to support employees.”
