Classical coronary bypass surgery has been replaced by minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery. Heart patients undergo surgery through small incisions without cutting the bones in the chest cage. Thanks to this method, which is also applied in Antalya Training and Research Hospital, heart patients can be discharged 4 days after surgery. Performing minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery at the Training and Research Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birkan Akbulut said, “We think every patient has the right to this surgery. This operation may not be suitable for every patient, because previous lung or heart surgery, medical condition or anatomical structure or a number of other diseases may prevent this surgery.”
