The introductory meeting of the 'Patient School' project prepared to raise awareness about oral and dental health among patients and their relatives was held in Karabük.
Provincial Health Director İsmail Kara, Chief Physician of Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taylan Çebi attended the meeting held at Karabük Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Kara said, “As Karabük health managers, we are a strong team that, in addition to the provision of qualified and privileged health services to our citizens, attach great importance to social projects in order to increase the level of awareness and awareness of our nation on health issues, adopt the principle of making innovative initiatives to increase the health literacy of our society, and work and strive in this direction.”
Kara said, “In recent years, interest in health literacy has increased in our country and various activities have been carried out.” Kara said, “With the increase in the rate of health literacy, unnecessary hospital admissions, hospital costs of individuals, hospitalization times are reduced. The rates of unnecessary examinations are decreasing, and we see that preventive health services are much more important in individuals and society with high health literacy and much better in chronic disease management.”
Giving information about the Patient School, Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çebi said: “It is a health service provided by Karabük Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital to patients and their relatives. The aim of this school is to create a strong awareness in the society about oral and dental health by organizing regular and continuous training programs for patients and their relatives in the training hall of our hospital, to explain the interactions between systemic diseases and oral and dental health to our people, to emphasize the importance of oral health from childhood to old age, to make presentations with up-to-date and scientific content about false facts about oral and dental health, to provide individuals with the ability to manage their diseases, to contribute to our society to reach healthier futures and to increase the level of health literacy.”
Çebi stated that expert faculty members, specialist dentists, specialist physicians, specialist physicians, dentists and nurses working at Karabük Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital will work at the Patient School.
He stated that the first of the Patient School trainings will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 between 15.00-16.00 on the subject and title of 'The Importance of Oral and Dental Health in Children and Correct Tooth Brushing' by Dr. Faculty Member Taibe Tokgöz Kaplan.
