Çankırı Provincial Health Director Dr. Hüseyin Sarıkaya, in his statement on mental health and stress management, stated that a positive perspective can improve mental health and that a healthy mind will increase the quality of life of the individual.
Stating that mental health covers the emotional, psychological and social well-being of the individual, Provincial Health Director Dr. Hüseyin Sarıkaya said that the capacity to cope with stress, to be productive and to contribute to society is directly related to mental health. He pointed out that a healthy mental state requires both physical and mental health to be considered as a whole.
Stating that stress can have serious effects on the body, Dr. Sarıkaya said that constant and uncontrolled stress can lead to health problems such as anxiety, depression, heart diseases, sleep problems and digestive problems. She also noted that stress can weaken the immune system, making it vulnerable to infections.
Dr. Sarıkaya stated that there are many ways to improve mental health and emphasized that a positive outlook plays an important role in this process. Strategies such as physical activity, adequate sleep, healthy nutrition, time management, social support, meditation and mindfulness can be effective in stress management.
Stating that a healthy mental state improves an individual's quality of life, strengthens relationships and increases productivity at work, Dr. Sarıkaya stated that investing in mental health is of great importance both individually and socially. Finally, she emphasized that developing self-care routines, seeking help and applying appropriate techniques are critical in stress management.
Dr. Sarıkaya said, “Mental health is the foundation of living a happy and fulfilling life. Those who can manage stress well have the key to happiness” and wished healthy, stress-free days.
