Internal Diseases Specialist Dr. Lecturer Kaan Tur said that asthma patients should be under regular doctor's control to protect their health.
Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Lecturer Kaan Tur, who works at Kırşehir Training and Research Hospital; made important warnings for asthma patients. Tur said, “Asthma is a chronic disease affecting the respiratory tract. When asthma patients are exposed to various triggers, they experience narrowing and swelling in the airways.”
Explaining that such conditions can cause chest tightness in patients, Kaan Tur said, “Although the exact cause of asthma is unknown, environmental factors can generally play a role in the development of the disease. Pollen, mold, air pollution, cold air exercise, cigarette smoke and some medications can trigger asthma attacks. The most important step in asthma treatment is to identify and eliminate the triggers. Regular use of medication is important in controlling asthma. Medications widen the airways during asthma attacks, making it easier for the patient to breathe. Patients should be in close contact with their doctors and follow their treatment plans. While regular controls are of great importance, the development processes of the diseases should also be monitored.”
