Fight against 'bluetongue' disease

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality continues to work against the 'bluetongue' disease that affects ovine animals. In order to prevent the spread of the disease, fertilizer areas, garbage containers and the environment are sprayed. In Yağcılar and Üçpınar neighborhoods, neighborhood headmen and animal breeders were informed about the disease.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality continues to work against 'bluetongue', a viral disease that affects Manisa and neighboring provinces. In order to prevent the disease that spreads through flies, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Affairs Public Health Department carries out spraying of compost areas, garbage containers and the environment. Veterinarian Uğur Dilik, Director of the Fight Against Vectors Branch, visited Yağcılar and Üçpınar neighborhoods. He informed Cevat Türkyılmaz, head of Yağcılar neighborhood, Levent Ay, head of Üçpınar neighborhood and animal breeders about the disease. Dilik explained the measures that can be taken against the disease and the treatments that can be done. Stating that the spread of the disease is through flies, Branch Manager Uğur Dilik said that fertilizer areas, garbage containers and environmental spraying are being carried out. Dilik stated that work is continuing in 17 districts to prevent problems for citizens, producers and animal breeders.
