Eskişehir Provincial Director of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bildirici stated that the theme of this year's Public Health Week, which is celebrated every year on September 3-9, is 'Your Closest Physician, Your Family Physician' and said, “The vision of creating a healthy society with healthy individuals is aimed.”
Provincial Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bildirici, in a statement he made on the occasion of September 3-9 Public Health Week, said that in order to strengthen primary health care services in Turkey, to organize and provide quality, effective, efficient and equitable primary health care services, a unique Family Medicine Model was created by taking into account the examples and conditions and needs of other countries as a way to achieve the goals of the Health Transformation Program. Stating that there are 289 contracted family physicians and 280 contracted family health workers working in 81 family health centers in Eskişehir, Bildirici emphasized that family physicians provide comprehensive and continuous preventive health services for individuals and primary diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative health services. Stating that family physicians provide services to every person regardless of age, gender and disease, Bildirici said, “Family physicians are family medicine specialists who also provide mobile health services to the extent necessary and work on a full-time basis, or specialist physicians or physicians who receive the trainings prescribed by the ministry.”

Pointing out that family physicians are usually close to the residences of individuals and are easily accessible, Provincial Director Yaşar Bildirici said that this situation enables family physicians to get to know the community they serve in all aspects and to evaluate family, environment and business relations. Noting that family physicians provide preventive health services and health promotion services in the most effective way to ensure healthy individuals and a healthy society, Bildirici said, “In order to protect health, health personnel working in Family Health Centers and Community Health Centers, as well as professionals from many different titles and occupational classes, continue to serve in a team spirit.
