Surgical Oncology and General Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Musluh Hakseven said that the health problems triggered by obesity are quite high and that many health problems occur in people with increasing fat tissue in the body. Stating that hormonal disorders, triggering of genetic diseases, psychological disorders, excessive desire to eat, sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diet are observed on the basis of obesity, Dr. Hakseven stated that in patients who apply with obesity complaints, first of all, the disorders that may develop due to excess weight gain are examined.

Stating that obese people may be accompanied by respiratory problems, snoring, diabetes, sleep apnea, hormonal disorders, cardiac diseases, hypertension, movement system problems and especially knee problems, Dr. Hakseven said, “After surgery, there is a serious regression in these diseases, mostly sleep problems, respiratory problems, hypertension and insulin resistance disappear. Noting that a new life can be started with obesity surgery, Dr. Hakseven said, “After the surgical decision for obesity is taken, old life habits are left behind. We witness changes in patients that we follow every step for about 1 year. With a regular and dietician-controlled diet and a good and continuous sport, the body gets rid of excess weight while keeping fit and settling into a new lifestyle.
