Stating that golfer's elbow is a disease characterized by pain and tenderness in the bone protrusion on the inner side of the elbow, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation specialist Dr. Nurhan Barutçu said, “This name was given because it is very common in golfers, but it can also be seen in people who constantly write and carpenters and other occupational groups, ‘it is not a disease specific to athletes’.”


How does golfer's elbow occur?

Stating that golfer's elbow may occur due to the adhesion of the tendons of the arm muscles responsible for the bending function of the wrist to the medial epicondyle and overuse of these muscles, Dr. Barutçu stated that inflammation and small tears may occur in the tendons as a result of the disease. Dr. Barutçu said, “Elbow pain is on the inner side of the elbow, it can radiate towards the inner edge of the forearm and an increase in pain is seen when the hand makes a fist.”

How is golfer's elbow treated?
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Specialist Dr. Nurhan Barutçu stated that physical therapy is very effective in the treatment of golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis) and explained the treatment methods they use as follows:
