'Regular screening in breast cancer saves lives'

Stating that the success rate of breast cancer, one of the most common types of cancer in women, can be greatly increased with early diagnosis and treatment, General Surgery Specialist Opr. Dr. Hakan Peker emphasized that early diagnosis of breast cancer increases treatment success up to 90 percent and drew attention to the importance of lifestyle changes such as healthy nutrition, regular exercise and avoiding alcohol and smoking to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. Peker said, “Raising awareness about breast cancer and taking precautions with regular screenings can be life-saving. Therefore, regular screening is of vital importance for women.”
