Denizli Private Tekden Hospital organized an awareness seminar for 'Breast Cancer Awareness and Awareness Month'. Every year, October 1-31 is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness and Awareness Month. In this context, Denizli Private Tekden Hospital organized a seminar for its female staff in order to raise awareness, inform and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis of breast cancer. In order to draw attention to breast cancer and raise awareness, stands were set up at the entrance of the hospital and pink balloons were hung in every corner of the hospital. In the seminar, Denizli Private Tekden Hospital General Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Yunus Acar gave important information about breast cancer.

Emphasizing that early diagnosis and diagnosis is of great importance in breast cancer, Op. Dr. Yunus Acar said, “Events are organized all over the world for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early diagnosis plays an important role in terms of our patients' comfort of life, living standards and reducing the burden on the health system. We make every effort to raise awareness among our patients. This month, we continue to inform our patients with posters on all hospital screens, posters and an outdoor conference. Any change in breast tissue should be examined. If there is a change in the breast, you should definitely go to the doctor and routine screenings should not be neglected.”

Stating that women over the age of 20 should be examined by a clinical physician between certain periods of time in cancer screenings and that routine screenings are important and should not be missing, Op. Dr. Yunus Acar said, “Routine screenings in breast cancer are important for us. We try to prevent cancer in the first place. If we could not prevent it, we find the diagnosis with early diagnosis. After the age of 20, every woman should go for an examination once a month. The most important thing for our women is self-examination. If any change is detected in the self-breast control, it is necessary to be examined. Another important issue is not to miss routine screenings in breast cancer.”

“We set up booths in our hospital to raise awareness on Breast Cancer”

Stating that they provided information to patients and guests coming to Denizli Private Tekden Hospital to raise awareness in the Breast Cancer Awareness month, Denizli Private Tekden Hospital Nurse Services Manager Cemile Balıkçıoğlu said, “Since this month is breast cancer awareness month, we have set up stands at our entrances and polyclinics as our hospital. We hung pink balloons and distributed brochures to inform our patients and visitors. Information about the symptoms of breast cancer was given in our hospital. We gave information on issues such as any discharge in the breast. We did a study about breast cancer by setting up stands to raise awareness among our patients and to prevent breast cancer.”
