Çankaya said, “Cervical cancers are in fourth place among female cancers. Our first step in cervical cancer prevention strategies is vaccination. Our second stage is screening. Our third stage is treatment. Therefore, we should not neglect our screening tests. A healthy woman is the pillar of a healthy society. A woman's mental and physical well-being significantly affects not only herself but also the general welfare of society. We also wanted to emphasize the importance of women's health in public health on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8. As for cervical cancer screenings, smear screenings are taken every three years between the ages of 21-65, starting one year after the first sexual activity. If it is taken together with the HPV test, which we call cotest, it is sufficient to take it every five years after the age of 30. Patients over 65 years of age are no longer screened if three smear results are normal, and the first screening should start at the age of 21, one year after sexual activity.”
